On Saturday, March 16th in Vicoforte, at the foot of Europe’s largest elliptical dome, a conference was held to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the death of the fourth and last King of Italy, Umberto II.

The choice to remember the “May King” and commemorate Carlo Emanuele I buried there is linked to the first Duke’s desire to make the Sanctuary of Vico the family mausoleum.

On the occasion of the conference, Duchessa Margherita had the pleasure and honor of hosting Duke Amedeo of Savoy and Princess Silvia of Savoy.

    I stayed here on a visit from Ireland on my motorcycle last July while visiting some Italian friends. I know there area quite well but it was my first time staying at the Duchessa it's a beautiful hotel with wonderful rooms and the service is excellent good parking and you can enjoy a nice evening in the Square in vicoforte and relax and unwind

    One of the most iconic hotel that i have ever visited. Each details in the hotel takes you back to the ancient time and golden days where luxury was simple and you can feel that you are living in a different ages. The room are well done , no elevator so try to come without excessive luggage. The service is ok sometimes we had to search for the staff to ask something they disappear 😆 10 min walking from some restaurant and gelateria. Next to the famous church in the town.

    What a lovely place! The staff we're really attentive, nothing was too much to ask. The breakfast is standard continental fayre but nice and fresh. If you're after a relaxing time to get away from everything, this is it.
